Dentures

Dentures are most commonly used when a person is missing all of their upper or lower teeth. A full denture rests on top of your gums and relies on the roof of the mouth for suction or lower jaw bone ridge to stay in place. The denture is made of acrylic and consists of artificial teeth that are set in a gum-colored base. Dentures usually take a few appointments before the final denture is complete, with a few follow-up appointments to ensure the denture is fitting properly. The first appointment will consist of a consult with Dr. Ahrens to determine if dentures are the best option for you, Wyndi will then take a scan of your mouth to have the lab make a wax denture. At the second appointment, you and Dr. Ahrens will make any changes needed to the wax denture to ensure you approve of the fit and appearance before creating the final denture. A few follow-up appointments will be needed as you get more comfortable wearing your new dentures, there will be a few adjustments that will be needed.
