Root Canals

If a tooth has abscessed, died, or is causing pain a root canal will many times be recommended. A root canal treatment is a dental procedure to remove inflamed or infected pulp on the inside of the tooth which is then carefully cleaned and disinfected, then filled and sealed. Root canal treatment is designed to eliminate bacteria from the infected root canal, prevent reinfection of the tooth and save the natural tooth. Depending on the severity of the infection we may refer you to a root canal specialist in town. Many times after a root canal is finished it is recommended to have a crown placed on the tooth to prevent the now brittle tooth from breaking.
